This Month Guest Post

Rosebud

Hi there, my name's Rosebud, though I'm more well-known as Rosie. I am an attractive Dalmatian who enjoyed a great life visiting the paddocks and pond behind the home where I lived. When I was a puppy I lived with a family who didn't really know how to look after me properly, and thus spent all my time with a chained in a backyard. But I was fortunately adopted by a nice family who loved me straight away. I had lots of games, slept inside plus went for lots of runs where I always pulled my master along. Indeed I was lucky and let out in the countryside to freely run around I was not the most obedient of dogs, sometimes running away from home despite all the affection and love I received, plus not always returning when let off for runs! However, despite my weaknesses, I was a very affectionate loyal dog who was friendly with everyone and very rarely made a noise, unless I was excited about going for a walk!! I know I'm missed a lot still, even though its been nearly 10 years since I went to doggy heaven :-)

White Flag

Bad news !! Eventhough I grind the dog kibbles into a near powder and mix them with wet food, Lulu will not touch or eat the whole bowl of food !!! I checked her bowl this morning, the food that I gave yesterday was there and it turned stale as the canned food cannot be left out for extended period of time. Lulu wants to eat pure meat or canned food ONLY !!

I wonder if this is the nature of a min pin, it is quite rare for dogs to be so fuzzy !

What shall I do now?

Lulu says 'Hi'

Lulu's favourite time is going for walks on early Sunday morning when she can meet her friends in the neighbourhood.

Lulu says 'hi' to these two Australian Terriers.

Lulu says 'hello' to these two huge big Labradors. Lulu looks tiny in front of them

I hardly see those pet parents bring their pets walking around the neighbourhood. Those pets must be envious about Lulu as she can enjoy and explore the outside world !

This Month Paws Pal

Ruby - Spitz

Lulu : *WHOOF* Who is she? A new pal?
Me  : She is Ruby, a Spitz.
Lulu : Snowy white...where is she now? Can we meet? I promise I won't fight.
Me  : She passed away one month before you joined our family.
Lulu : oohhhhhhhhh............sorry..:-(

RUBY, was initially a stray dog. Our family adopted her from a security guard many years ago. She was a senior dog, thus, she was calm, mature, seldom growled or howled, and she was very protective of her owner. I remember vividly, the times she barked furiously were when she saw a snake entering our garden and a stray cat trying to steal the gold fish from the fish pond.

She had never pulled on leash when we brought her for walks, that's why she wore a leather dog collar around her neck instead of a dog harness, which fits around a dog's chest and rib cage. She followed us obediently when on walks, like a small soldier.

She passed away in August last year. I believe she is in Doggy Heaven now. We buried her in our backyard. This post is to remember her, to show that she was a great companion of our family.

A finicky eater

Lulu has been fussy about her food lately. She has given up on dry food (dog kibbles) and she prefers home cooked meals and canned food. I feel reluctant to satisfy her with canned food mainly because dry food is much more economical and convenient to buy. The most important point is dry food is easy to keep whereas all opened canned food must be kept refrigerated or it can easily grow bacteria.

I got a few samples of  dog kibbles from a local pet shop. Taste of The Wild is one of them. From my research, it is a premium brand. However, Lulu doesn't want any of the dog kibbles. I have tried mixing a small amount of canned food and the dog kibbles together. I grind the dog kibbles into smaller pieces (to a near powder). I have to mix both of them thoroughly otherwise Lulu will pick the meat only. She becomes very active these two days and I hope this is not the  result of eating canned food which makes her hyperactive. Lulu is clever enough to make her choice but I want to switch her back to eating dry food.

Can anyone provide me suggestions and solutions?

Awesome Friend ! :-)

Meow Meow

Meow ~~~ Yes, here I am. I’m Sam, a cute furry (and little overweight) cat. Yes, you have entered the Whoof Whoof Blog zone. OH……….you wonder why a cat picture appears in a doggy blog?? Meow ~~, let me tell you. My owner, the Bellamy’s family from New Zealand is the FIRST visitor of this cool doggy blog, that’s why I have the honour to feature here, even though I’m not from the canine group.  This shows that I’m an EXCEPTIONAL and OUTSTANDING friend. Will I become popular after this and get lots of girlfriends from the neighbourhood? Let's see what happens. I’m sure Lulu and her family are happy to see many visitors from different countries sharing useful information and tips about pets (especially dogs) here. They welcome feedback and comments too. Perhaps I can have some advice on losing weight and why I act funny late at night?

I feel like lazing in the sun again, bye bye

Lulu's snapshots

Here are a few snapshots of Lulu. Look at her --- stand tall with ears upright while posing for photographs. She likes to show her tongue when taking photographs. I wonder if all dogs do that.

I bought her a pink dog harness from an online store (image below). It is a basic dog harness, with a buckle and a connector for leash on the top. She wears it happily when on walks and it seems that she feels comfortable about it. Does she look pretty in pink? Or a reflective red dog harness suits her better? I want to get her a dog vest harness to protect her from cold when I bring her for walks in the evening.

Look at Lulu --- she looks so tiny and petit on human hands. Just like a sparkling little diamond !

About Lulu - Whoof Whoof

Whoof whoof

Hello everyone, my name is Lulu, and I’m a pure breed Miniature Pinscher. I’m the Ambassador of Whoof Whoof Blog. I was born in May 2013, and then joined my current family in September, 2013. Look at me -- sparkling dark brown eyes, smooth rounded nose, and soft pure black fur. My family totally fell in love with me when I arrived, and they try their best to look after me. They do this by giving me lots of hugs, feeding me nutritious food, keeping me warm (I don’t like the cold!), potty training, bathing me and walking me frequently. In return, I bring a lot of joy and laughter to my family (though I’m a bit naughty sometimes!). I like my owner rubbing my neck and tummy, it’s so comfortable! I enjoy playing with children too. I can run as fast as a deer and can jump very high, just like a ninja! Hence, my nickname is ‘the little jumper”. I’m very active and powerful for my size. Indeed, my family find it difficult to snap a photograph of me! Trust me though, I’m very pretty :-)

This blog features my life with my family and, simultaneously, my owner hopes to share information, new thoughts, ideas and photographs here. We hope that reading this blog is a fantastic and relaxing experience for you. We also welcome any feedback.
Lots of licks for you! :-) :-)
